The purpose of this course is to provide students with an understanding of the semantic, structural, and rhetorical resourcesof the English language as they relate to the principles of effective writing. Students will create critical and informed responses to texts in a range of forms, styles, and contexts while developing the Interdependent skills of reading, analysis, and research Students will demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of English language and its use in a variety of contexts. The course also provides a variety of writing opportunities calling for the use of different styles and tones. Students will write clearly, accurately, creatively, and effectively for different purposes/audiences, using different forms. This course is recommended for the AICE diploma through Cambridge.
